Dylan Joseph Poem by Michele Beck

Dylan Joseph

He smiles through the mirrors of his soul.
A Libra - balanced and calm.
An introvert, he contemplates.
Then, the daring adventurer wakes.

A passing tender moment shared.
Such an affectionate boy.
The mischievous twinkle in his eye.
Needing no wings to fly.

I observe with trepidation, frozen in fright,
An extension of myself in this world.
The love he'll know, the things he'll see..
Happy to watch him and let him be.

I look to him for inspiration.
Although, I have many years on him.
My eyes moist with pride.
My son asleep by my side.
