Dry Tongue Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Dry Tongue

In the dry tongue
You have found
The pearl in a towel
The pearl of the Orient
You had long
Looked for
You found:
Come!
Night is a landmark building
Night is a jet across the black silhouette
Night is a jar of scents
Night is long hair of silk
Night is a thunder in the summer
Night is the cool first cool of Septembers
Night is the blue turned dark
Night is the sea, the Ocean
Night is the night-watch on the bastions
Night is the naked palm wind-swaying
Night is the pearl that you looked for
Voyaged for
Traveled for
Even in Orient lands
Advanced
Still had not found.
