Rookie (25th Jan 1967 / Mumbai - India)

Drunk

Swollen cheeks,
blood-red eyes,
heart bleeds,
the head dies.

Senses gone,
memories fade,
king or pawn,
look the same.

I am drunk.

Tongue chatters,
turns traitor,
nothing matters,
fears vapor.

Mind dribbles
weird dreams,
soul fears
endless screams.

I am still drunk.

They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
