Drunk (1)

So I'll let my toothbrush
spoon yours on the bathroom sink
just like I should be to you -
and you to me.

But only one night, the
tiniest fraction of my many nights
on this earth is spent here
then you go away
and everything is alone again,
even my toothbrush.

'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
