While not uplifting, it does represent the expression of a poet. The woes that slither seem to represent the snake or serpent, or perhaps the boa that constricts its prey. The life is in the blood, so if we're given life, it must have worth and eternal meaning. The Cross of Christ is the subject of my Christian poetry. It doesn't encourage us to die physically, but to live, to be born again, to find out how best to live our lives rather than throwing them away. I see the contrasts in the poetry, with death seen as a Saviour and the blood within us travelling through pipes, veins and arteries. Since we don't know if sorrow has hurt the poet, it isn't possible to help further, yet the poemhunter website has so many words of comfort to share.
