Curtain Of Red Poem by Sakib Choudhury

Curtain Of Red

A curtain of red slowly makes its decent down
Covering everything behind the scenes
The audience left to wonder what will happen next
how will the upcoming act take place

Feeling the the tention going into a crescendo
Slowly rising with every uncontrolled breath
Something could happen at any point
For the situation is very volatile

Slowly a crack opens through the curtain of red
Allowing  a small window to peak through
To see with third party eyes certain events
That were taking place at that time

Events to which now looking back
Should not have been thought of
Let alone been allowed to take place

Screaming through the gap for it to stop
So loud that the chest cries in agony
Yet nobody can hear the screams
Coming from the audience point of the curtain

Silence befalls the room again
If a pin were to fall it would be heard
Darkness takes over everything
For what seems to last an eternity
Was actually only a few minutes

Finally the lights were shone on the curtain of red
then come the sounds of the pulley system
As it lifts the curtain of red slowly up
Revealing what had happened behind the scene

Shocks and gasps came from the audience
As they struggle to grasp the atrocity that had
just occured for a demon was present that day
