Dreams Of Odysseus Poem by Erick O. Rodriguez

Dreams Of Odysseus

Starry night, here I lie
Foresee the stories of a true good guy
Count the stars up so high
Oh how I want to spin and fly
Prayer kiss up to the sky
For tender lips worth to die
Dreams that flow through the sleeping eye
A Bleeding heart to never go dry
Nightmares echo my battle cry

Kick, flip, toss and turn
Torment feel of a fourth degree burn
Spears, knives, pierce his core
Lonely soldier in a Dreamland war

Evil spells give much frights
To desperate souls in need of a win
Glooming days to crying nights
Are restless spirits encircled by sin
God beams his bright white lights
Creep miracle wings from under the skin
Godsend gifts for brand new heights
Give birth to spirit warriors from within

Toss, turn, kick and flip
A million counts by Aries' whip
Wishes and hopes, shout a roar
Hearty Hero in a Dreamland war

Goblins, demons crave a bite
We desperately seek peace from above
With last prayer, angels alight
Fair a war with a magical shove
For the beauty and all that is right
Act like romantics longing for love
Raise the swords and ready for fight
Endure Eternity Battle to awe the liberty dove

Dance, skip, sing and cheers
Dreams that make joyous tears
Long haul prize, it's Penelope's door
Worthy winner of a Dreamland war

Promising arrows aim for your bell
There I stand with Cupid's guitar
Cherubs sing with so much to tell
Voice the blessings of who we are
Away from Hades and Gates of Hell
We fly away on Astraios' shooting red star

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
After rereading The Odyssey, I wondered of the dreams Odysseus had.
