Dreams Of No Tears Poem by Jade Leven

Dreams Of No Tears

he stands on the corner
his face splattered with old hurt
he stands out in a crowd of fast-paced lives
moving in slow motion, lifting my curse

he looks around again and again
not smiling, a little apathetic
like he’s been there forever
I can’t help but be sympathetic

and here is my wish that I make on him
my shooting star in my sky
I hope I make life brighter for him
but what kind of dreamer am I

I dream about flying
but then again, who doesn’t these days
I think it’s because in our own dreams
we are happier in so many ways

I wonder what he dreams about
probably moving to a different town
small populations might make him feel more important
but I hope that for now he’ll stick around

and here is this person he’s always been
despite his best efforts to change
here is my life that won’t be moved
it refuses to be rearranged

and here is my dream, my dream of no tears
in his life and in mine
I hope everyone does their best to survive
but what kind of dreamer am I

I’m not crying
at least not this minute
he’s not trying
to keep himself in it

and I fight to stay awake
I’m falling asleep already
is life moving too fast for him as well
nobody’s ready
for this

no tears, no tears
falling down
it’s just a dream, I know it’s just a dream
don’t remind me
don’t turn around

and here is my dream, my dream of no tears
in his life and in mine
I hope everyone does their best to survive
but what kind of dreamer am I

go back to sleep now

wow, that was an intresting read, it kind of reminds me of the song by The Cure called 'Charlotte Sometimes'. Good work!
