Dreams Of A Night That Is Past Poem by TMA

Dreams Of A Night That Is Past

Rating: 5.0

I believe in that lovely morn –
Oh, I believe with all my heart! –
When all the things that made us mourn
Shall be but dreams of a night that is past.

We shall shake the sleep from our eyes
Woken by the birds’ sweet songburst
Frustration, and sorrow, and sighs
Shall be but dreams of a night that is past.

And how the merry birds shall sing!
Put on a sweet concert for us
The righteous Sun-Rise, healing in His wings
He has put all our disease in the past!

We’ll wake to days lovely and fair
With Youth that forever shall last
Corruption, the grave, and despair
Shall be but dreams of a night that is past…
