TMA Poems

I came into your life-
You invited me,
Or I elbowed my way in
Or fate threw us together-
...

The sun overhead is shining
And I bathe in its golden rays
After rain my heart was pining
For just these golden, sunlit days
...

It’s a kamikaze romance
With our hearts strapped in the seats
And we wage a war called Love
And we’ll not concede defeat
...

So the jaws don’t drop
When you walk down the street –
The brakes don’t screech,
And the horns don’t beep…
...

Find your dreams tonight
Feel your body become so light
That you soar high, and go far-
And hug the moon, and kiss a star…
...

You’ve been changing
And so have I
We used to be bosom buddies;
Fast friends
...

I wrote a letter to my love
To let her know that her I miss
I wrote it from my deepest heart
And sealed it with a loving kiss.
...

I had a friend, once
We sat in the same class
He was smart, he was strong
A Leader of Men
...

There’s an ocean between us
And borders, and miles,
And countries, and cities
And rivers, and valleys
...

He’s surrounded by deadly enemies
Every side that he turns
Before, and behind
And all around;
...

Regret is a terrible thing.

The opportunity forsaken,
...

My mind is like a hurricane;
I cannot think above the sound
Of regrets and accusations
Being tossed and thrown around.
...

We live in a world where
There’s so little to believe in
And everyday
Less and less…
...

Everywhere;
Hot girls
And even hotter pants
Have you ever caught someone’s daddy
...

Hope springs eternal
Like a streak of light
That pierces through the darkness
Of despair…
...

Inspire, instruct insolent insurgents
To teach tolerant townsmen
Virulent, vitriolic violence
Uprising, unrest, anger-
...

Blood is thicker than water
So they say
But so is jam, and honey,
And mercury, and porridge, and-
...

Reality is cruel;
I’d rather dream instead
I wonder what it’d be like
To live inside my head…
...

We are living in dark ages
Yes, there’s so much information
Yet the Truth, on screens or pages
Is obscure from deformation
...

I was gathering my notes
I had a lecture that afternoon
'The 'Final Solution'-The Nazi Genocide'
I would stand on a pulpit

Did I Leave A Mark?

I came into your life-
You invited me,
Or I elbowed my way in
Or fate threw us together-
Nevertheless, I entered…
But did I leave a mark?

I came into your heart-
You let me in,
Or I pestered you
Till you finally opened up-
Nevertheless, I entered…
But did I make a mark?

I came into your mind-
You let me in,
Or I pestered you
Till you could think of little else-
Nevertheless, I entered…
But did I leave a mark?

TMA: too many acronyms! ! ! ! Thank you. Loved most of your poems. In fact downloaded many of them, and/or sent some of them to friends. Talking of friends, this past year I was knifed by one and your poem hit the bull's eye. Would love to know more about you. You write lectures - where do you teach? What subjects?
