Dragon Awakes Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Dragon Awakes

Village sleeps like a cozy child
The dragon watches
We have become abstract like ghosts
Fog sets in
Your hair of fairies
Your touch of moon velvet
Caress the jade of shamans
Rainbow necklace of Polynesia

Speak to me of elven days
Tell me of the gold of Orphir
Gates of carnal love
Shields of mystical blue
Swords of ancient dreams
Amethyst and beryl gowns
I am smitten but know
The dragon awakes
