Do Your Own Thing Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Do Your Own Thing

When the duck quacks
It does its own thing
when the dog barks
It is in its own world
When the cat meows
It engages itself
When the chicken clucks
It faces its own duty
When the bird chirps
It concentrates on its job
When the frog croaks
Its joy is revealed in it
When the cattle moo
They know they are in business
When the eagle screams
There is job to be done
When the lamb bleats
It needs to be fed
When the lion roars
Other animals cringe
Man, do your own thing
Leave the story for another day
