Do You Wound Poem by Gary James Smith

Do You Wound

Rating: 5.0

Do You Wound

Do you wound people with your words
You put them in their place
Even though they don't deserve it
It's like a slap across their face
They might hide their feelings well
Sometimes they surely cannot
But of course you do not notice
You don't really care a lot

You haven't looked in a mirror of late
The one that sees inside
If you happened to really check it out
You'll read that God hates pride
So humble yourself and give some thought
People have feelings too
Don't just think about yourself
But think on others too

A haughty spirit goes before a fall
Pick your landing site
God might have to bring you down
So you may walk upright
So check your words before they enter
The atmospheric air waves
May they be well seasoned with grace
For the rest of your days!
