Do You Want Anything From Mcdonald's? Poem by Bryan Corbett

Do You Want Anything From Mcdonald's?

I told you I was going
on a McDonald's run
three times
I asked you
three times
If you wanted anything
three times
You said no

because I know exactly
what I want:
Big Mac
Fish Filet
and a large fries
no more
and no less

then as I was leaving
you said you'd go for the ride
and as we were sitting
in the car staring at the well-lit menu
I asked you if you wanted anything
you said no
I asked again
'Are you sure? '
you said that you were
I said
'Last chance'
you shrugged me off
and said no
again

because I know exactly
what I want:
Big Mac
Fish Filet
and a large fries
no more
and no less

I pulled up to the little window
the nice kid handed me the bag
I placed it on the dashboard
you reached in
and took some of MY fries
and now you're mad at me?
because I rolled my eyes
and I sighed?
