Do You Love Me? Poem by Luke Butler

Do You Love Me?

You look into my eyes,
I cannot guess your guise,
Do you love me, you ask, with your heart in the right place,
But to this question I cannot keep a straight face,
I love you as the creator his creation, more than one can know,
I love you as winter loves its snow,
I love you like how the moon loves the sun,
Projecting thy beautiful presence for everyone,
I love you like a broken clock, which doesn't care for time,
I love you as a saint, one who always shines,
I love you, like the survivor, one whose ways have changed,
I love you, and wish to be engaged,
But one question looms my mind, before I ask thee for thy hand,
Do you love me? As I loved you grand?
