Do You Know? Poem by Amanda Miranda

Do You Know?

Do You Know?
Do you notice me watching
how your hair falls around your face,
how your eyes shift from side to side,
how your lips form every word,
how your fingers trace your outline?
Do you notice my smile when I
see your hair glow in the cafeteria light,
see your eyes sparkle like stars,
see your lips glisten like cherries,
see your fingers twist your golden brown locks?
Do you hear my heart beat faster when I
feel your hair on my face,
feel your eyes watching me,
feel your lips so close to my ear,
feel your fingers brush my arm?
I notice when you
brush your hair away from your face,
roll your eyes at somebody's jokes,
move your lips saying something impressive or funny,
throw your hands up in frustration.
