Do You Feel It?
My friend.
do you feel it?
feel that accelerating rush
that exhilarating pulse
down your chest.
do you feel it?
I think you do.
Take a black and white picture
of this moment
this slow paced moment
and save it in your pocket
you can later repeat the process.
It may only be a second
but it unwraps a lifetime.
the best part of the best drug in the world
isn't the high
its the time just before you take it
the dice dancing on the table
the smoke filling up your lungs
the dealer about to turn the card
the pill in your tongue
the ball spinning in the roulette
the drink in your lips
the substance up your nose
the staring before the kiss
its between the now and then
the birth of the greatest high
My friend.
do you feel it?
well, we don't need all that high..............our high is when seeing our children achieved their greatest achievement in life................and seeing them growing from there........................thats the adrenalin..........coke, angel dust, baby grass, white ice, upjohn, lily 40.............you named it...............
The chase and the catch? I'm enjoying these so far... Ez.
I see what Tara means, but I think that it should be broken up into (at least) two stanzas as the narrative is two different voices from ' Isn't the high'.
You build up that high with an increasingly speedy-paced piece for the reader. A well-penned and inviting piece. t x
