Do They Know It Will Only Cost Happiness? Poem by Anju Knight

Do They Know It Will Only Cost Happiness?

Do they know it will only cost happiness?
Deprived souls few as the sands free themselves
in your bar, their new homeland.
To them you are the man who has the gift in hand,
Liquid bliss is the harlot's kiss flowing throw the body,
it cuts as it goes.

A new beginning, although for many its never ending.
The need for the bliss that is.
A drink permanently heals, yet when warmt is removed
the body craves your temporary fix.

Mr. Man, I remember coming in, smiling being ignorant to this business
A wave to a stolid guard hiding in the dark.
Light has come to show your hands,
hands that break a man; no its not a secret anymore man.
I know because even when the brightest light has made its mark
your place is so dark.
