Today is the festival of lights,
for all those beautiful sights,
like a flash covers my dark sky,
still so less to see around,
this chill, this stagnant ground,
where is all the light lost,
like a sudden flash vitiated,
my enthusiasm, my smile deviated,
to those days when,
together were all, even
was light enough everywhere,
when handful did the job,
whereas now bags could not cop,
today i am so far from you,
for the first time diwali feels so new,
so different like a rebirth of an festival,
this distance brought a opaque wall,
between my joy and the lights,
lights all around today,
yet dormant in hopes sway,
this light's glory if from,
the nearness with the closest of all,
love is the light of this festival
