Distant Roads Poem by Peter S. Quinn

Distant Roads

Rating: 5.0

O my darling now you are there
In the distant roads,
Memories from past everywhere
And their deep loads.
Feeling in the winter night
From hours gone by,
Dimmest glowing shining light
Before the morning sky.

O my darling in the past
Spring that was and became light,
Dreams of days that crossed
Into futures of my flight.
Everything that day's stand for
In my heart and being,
All that makes me assure
And to futures now am seeing.

O my darling times go away
From past to somewhere new,
Like a morning of a bright day
That is how I now see you.
In my future everywhere
As my life's footsteps go on by,
You are in my eyes here and there
Like the first gleam of a morning sky.
