Dirt Nap Poem by Whitney Stevens

Dirt Nap

I was falling down into my tomb, the vertex of my lasting doom
Above my little dirt-like womb, a single blackened flower blooms
I split the earth and grasped its stem, its little petals I have condemned
'I won't go down alone like them' I coughed out with a wad of phlegm

Above my little dirt-like womb a single blackened flower blooms
Even though I'm in the mud I won't give up my diadem, my lasting worth is its priceless gem
I split the earth and grasped it's stem, its little petals I have condemned
While I sit in my deathroom I'll give you another set of glooms

Even though I'm in the mud I won't give up my diadem, my lasting worth it's priceless gem
I'll leave you with my own mayhem and maybe you can comfort them
While I sit in my deathroom I'll give you another set of glooms
Though my wrongs and evils loom, my thoughts one day you will exhume.
