Direction Does Not Matter Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Direction Does Not Matter

Rating: 5.0

Ever since the umbilical cord was first severed
First gasps of oxygen inhaled and expelled
New birth, new life rises to growth
Death started its vigil
Waiting for life’s roulette wheel to stop
Numbered the days pass quickly
Ball of life wildly spinning
No matter the direction chosen
Success and failure end the same
Wealth cannot change the destiny
Life has but one direction
Not just for one, but for all
Caught in the vortex
Undetermined its duration
Children become adults
Passing from phase to phase
All the time, the odds lessening
Older, wiser yet more susceptible
Still the ball spins
Decreasing in its speed
Dropping down, from the rim
Down to the inevitable
A soul released back into the cosmos
Awaiting a new dawn

Very good. We think were so different but we are all really the same. Thankyou Gordon for your spin on life.
