Different Paces Poem by LINET SABASTIAN

Different Paces

Rating: 4.5

They were moving at different paces
She was running, you were crawling
She was all grown up, you were still growing
She could not wait for you, time was moving
She was a woman, you were a boy
She was too much of a woman, you were too much of a boy
She acted her age, you acted twice younger your age
She did not want a boy glued to the play ground
She wanted a man to walk at the same pace with.

It was a long journey
She had to keep up with her pace to cover it
She had to move fast, time was running out
The guiding light was fading away
Wish her well as she walks on
Sadly she can not wait for you to grow
Time does not allow.
Keep growing, you will find your age.

quite a deep message of a grown up man trapped in a preteen-age character
