Did You Thank Him? Poem by Ray Hansell

Did You Thank Him?

Did you bow your head this morning?
Thank the Lord for another day
Did you drop to your knees?
Did you fold your hands to pray?

Do you pay homage to the Lord?
Thank Him for the things you've got
Because there are so many others
Who are down and out and have not

Did you thank Him for the health?
Of your small children
For the love He puts in their hearts
For the life they are building

Did you thank Him for the roof?
That covers you in the night
That nice warm house
That protects until the morning light

Did you thank Him for living?
In the greatest place on earth
Never once taking for granted
Freedom and all it's worth

Yes, we should all thank Him each day
When we awake and draw another breath
Because if we do not thank Him now
It will be too late in death
