This is a pledge
That my heart has avowed to.
This is a solemn plea
Of my soul’s deepest cravings.
This is an affirmation
Of an emotion so true,
A promise to uphold your love with tenderness,
And share in the silences of your pains
And bask in the tinkling sweetness of your bliss.
This is a declaration of my devotion,
A vow of admiration and ardour,
That I shall love you in the truest of forms,
And shield your heart from the lair of hurts,
And from the sting of deception.
This is an avowal of my love,
That it shall live
Through the immortality of fate…
