Despair Poem by Linda Farino-Bokitko Lagnese

Despair

DESPAIR

Suddenly, this clutching feeling renders me frozen in time, as I lay helpless; despair hovers over me as it makes its descend. ClaimIng me as her own she begins to quickly ravish the most tender of devotions leaving nothing behind.

Despair arrives engulfing me whole, sweeping me to my knees; a beating heart no more, hemorrhaging at the seams, surrendering as death comes to greet me, gasping for relief from this perpetual agony…

Softly my soul cry's a deafening reality taking on despairs final blow, now finishing me; wasting no time like the thief we know she is.

Silently she slithers away, now Satisfied only to leave behind traces of my hollowed carcass to rot in the morning sun…
