Desert Sentinel Poem by Carole Moran

Desert Sentinel

A lonely monument out there
In the desert, standing bare;
To guide the pilgrim on his way
To record the passing of the day.

A rust red tower of rock and stone
Rising from the earth alone,
Nothing else for miles around
But silence and the dried-up ground.
