Depression Sets In Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

Depression Sets In

Rating: 5.0

I see with my eyes, my head, and my heart.
Not all things are the same, they are viewed separately.

My eyes see, what is there, nothing more, nothing less,
They care, not at all, that is not their domain.

The eyes tell the heart, and the heart, cares all for that is seen.
And tells the mind how she feels, and what she wants done about it.

Now the mind, is ever faithful, to the heart, who is his friend;
And controls, all of the emotions and feelings shown.

So, it is very understood, that when the heart cries foul,
The mind sends his commands, and the emotions displayed
Become mild to intense, depending on the hearts distress.
For everyone knows he loves her so, and on him, she can always depend.

Until one day, the mind says NO WAY, and the heart says oh yes,
Absolutely, I must. And there, the controversy begins.
For, never before, have they gone this course, and now they are at odds,
As never before. She so wrapped up in want, and the mind in his refusal,
That eventually, the senses, begin to become confused.

Depression sets in, and a fog rolls in, and nothing is ever quite the same.
