Deployment Poem by Honor Seay

Deployment

Let us not blink,
For I want this moment.
Blue eyes staring into mine,
Tears choking back every word.
“Goodbye” she said and away she flew.
I never said goodbye,
Because the glass of time is sparkling clear.
Let the armada sing.
They can take away my baby girl,
But the sands are on our side.
Flip the hourglass;
Start the countdown.
