Death Of A Dove Poem by Cherylyn Vardi

Death Of A Dove

A metal rain falls and punctures the morning

Dialogues of dread smother the breeze

Metalliferous clouds imprison the sunlight

Frightened faces carve the air with their screams

Hot flashes of terror nightmare the moment

Eagle and Hawk devour the dove

An olive tree weeps over the loss of her herald

While two nations beg mercy from political thugs

Animosity and enmity spread like wildfire

Igniting minds to wasteful war

Missiles and canons pierce the flesh of a country

Wounding the land they are both fighting for
