Dear Mister

Dear Mister Blue Eyes, I was young and scared sixteen and knowing that we would end not much after we started. I could’ve tried but I believed your actions only confirmed the belief in the back of my mind that we were not meant to be…

Dear Mister Bad Boy, you were the one who sparked my potential for romance, I felt the jolt when your hand touched mine, oh the sweet innocence in it. Perhaps there was no real emotion there but the exhilaration of fingertips.

Dear Mister Poet, I find myself taking steps backwards just to see if I can stumble into your arms and find my home there. Oh but I’ve spent so long counting all the scenarios that I’ve torn down all the potential and magic that we have or could’ve had, but despite it all you’re the only one who’s still around.

Dear Sweet One, the latest of them all, I don’t have regrets, I’m sorry if I pressured you into falling in love with me, don’t worry I failed…. I saw something in you that you couldn’t quite catch in your own reflection but I believe in time you will see the man I saw every time I looked you in the eyes. You will make a wonderful man to someone special, I’m sorry I wasn’t the right one for you, and no it wasn’t your fault.

Dear Self, I’ve gone over this time line of what ifs of men who didn’t quite reach the point of love although some have come close, and seem to still be in the race, others have left the building.

Dear Stranger, I’ve seen your face in my dreams but we’ve yet to have met, but we will one day and by then I will be ready. Who knows maybe I’ve already met you? Maybe just maybe your love will be graspable one day soon, maybe I will one day become capable of love.

Signed one day yours,

Blackbird

Marvelous! I mean simply, I've thought the same thing to black bird! it really makes you wonder what kind of man you'll end up with.
