Dear, Friend Poem by Kwadwo Adade

Dear, Friend

Dear Friend, Are you their?
I have some things, id like to share.
Youve been there through times, when Ive needed you most
Like a real friend should, I can really call you close.

It doesnt matter time or place,
My frown will reveal a smile when I see your face.
I feel my heart glow when you come near,
Because you tear away all the sadness and fear.

When I feel cold and the darkness is all around
Nothing can make me happy, Im completely run down.
My spirit is drained of all that is me,
But then you come along and help me to see.

The hope that lies beneath all the pain,
And show me everything I have to gain.
I sometimes do bad things, and I want to quit.
But no matter how much I want to give up, you wont permit.

Death often becomes a thought in my bobbled mind.
But with friends like you, I cant leave this life behind!
Youre the biggest piece of the cake which is my life
Without that piece, it just wouldnt feel right.

I love you, and you mean more then you know.
And please just promise me, no matter what youll never go.
Just promise youll always be by my side.
Because if not, I would be dead inside.

Your friend sounds like a Godsend, and it occurs to me that he or she is lucky to have you too. A touching poem for sure. ~Ray
