Dear Editor Poem by Raymond Farrell

Dear Editor

I decided to write the editor
Of my local paper
To tell him
What I thought
Was wrong with the world
The problems with
The political system
Society's downhill slide
Into decadence and greed
I drew up a long list
Of things I felt
Needed to be addressed
And some ideas
On how to rectify the situation
I wrote the first line
Dear Editor
Then proceeded
Let me tell you
What I think is wrong
With the world
I felt overwhelmed
And I couldn't decide
What should be corrected first
I simply wrote
I am
Yours Sincerely
Signed my name
And mailed it in
Having the best of intentions
And positive change in mind
I think I got off
On the right foot.
