Dear Earth Poem by Karl Newton

Dear Earth

Rating: 5.0

Dear Earth
This is the human race
Writing to you from Mars

A planet a new
Of which little was knew
The first thing to strike
To shock the system as it were
Is just how cold it is here
Minus 80 degrees Fahrenheit
Very cold indeed
Other features of note
That this is a very rocky land
Many canyons and volcanoes
Landing was a nightmare
Other than that the surface is covered in a red dust
And this planet clouds and winds
Just like Earth
The view of Earth from here
Is stunning to say the least
When there isn't a dust storm
That covers the whole planet
And rakes up the empty river beds
Where there is signs
Water once ran
Write again soon
As and when I can
