Dead Man's Dream Poem by Nithin Jacob

Dead Man's Dream

Behind the walls I lead a life of a drifter
I was gifted life and used to admire the little creatures
Crawling for their life on the grounds
I used to look beyond the lives the martyr gave us once
Now, it dragged my vision and took a decision for me to shut the doors
To rap the thoughts for all the mankind to dwell in their place, peacefully
The church bell used to ring with the desires and ambition to feed the hungry soul
I loved the rain and moon, loved to be with my dreams budding in spring
When the call comes through the heavenly doors, I was alive
To kill my past and to live on the real act
Wiped my sorrows heading towards the bright side,
Caught my sight of some undertakers fighting for my pit
Claiming for the penny they have worked for
Do I have any hope to conquer the little dreams?
Rage and vengeance was an option but I closed my eyes
Now I can see them burying me
I can see them spreading the sand dropp by drop
And I have noticed my dreams being buried along with me in the same pit
A dead man’s dream scores no meaning to the earthly creatures
But I have a dream and still dream about it for all the mankind.
