Dead Before I Die Poem by Cassandra Hooper

Dead Before I Die

I take your hand
I hold it tight
As I know this is
The very last night
That I can breathe
That you can stay
Because now they won't listen
To what we say
We beg and plead
We grovel and cry
But still they say
Its just a lie
So I'll blow these words
Out the back of my head
They can't kill those
Who are already dead
