Dead As Latin Poem by John Parsons

Dead As Latin

I thought it would never end.
All that I am

Hurted slowly like
two continents colliding.

The rivers of Sumer, with all its salinty
flooded the whirlpools on my face

Ra burnt away. The moon-goddess
froze like the Alpine ice caps.

I no longer feel anything.
You're as dead as Latin to me.
