Days Of Yore Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Days Of Yore

Together we went a roaming
through silver and golden sand
when suddenly we left this world
to fly to a fantasy land.

A land where tall stately galleons
sail over amethyst seas,
and soft breezes are quietly echoing
across the swaying palm trees.

Girls wearing blue silken dresses
dance to a sweet lullaby,
and birds of paradise spread their wings
as with beauty they grace the sky.

Charred remains of an ancient castle
look back into history
while ramparts where a battle was fought
told us that we were free...

So free to walk and love forever
along a peaceful romantic shore.
Twas a magical dream within a dream
fashioned on grand days of yore.
