Darkening Dream Poem by Nicole Gehrman

Darkening Dream

Face beneath the water,
struggling for one last breath.
Before she sinks back into the darkness.
Risking you life,
fight your fears,
on life's fateful crossing.
Sprawled, crumpled, and broken
at the bottom of a lake.
Eyes dancing in the moonlight
staring blankly up at the sky.
Stop the spinning...
been afraid...
When it rains
her face lit up by dozens of fires.
she's not coming back.
Her silent spirit suffers
wanting to shine thru the pain.
Hate the secrets that were kept.
A loving passion revealed.
Face beneath teh water,
dancing thru the still water.
Darkness envelops her.
Only but a dream,
she risks her sanity
as the early light of dawn approaches.
