Dark Side Poem by Franklin Obialo

Dark Side

From the duality of love emerges a mystery,
a dark identity concealed by its divine nature.
a force whose rage are flashes of fire,
a most vehement flame.
Hearts have bled from its gory scars,
and souls in its grasp burn with lost passion.
Fair are victims of swords,
than vessels of heartbreak.
For they are bounded by shackles of loneliness,
and their minds are devoured by shadows of emptiness.
Emotions becomes an object of torture,
and memories is but a monument of sufferings.
Oblivion becomes but their final wish,
for that alone would be a release, next to this travesty.
The one virtue been craved for,
becomes a vice of demise.
For as strong as love may be, it has a rival,
its dark side.
