Dark Poem by Kev Elmer

Dark

Rating: 5.0

Listen, this silence is deafening,
locked away in this darkened room.
Alone with these walls of despair,
deep shadows cast byt he moon.

The dim glow through the window,
screaming release from the shadow.
Pale walls echoing my beathing,
with no escape, no where to go.

Sweat dripping down my face,
the tocking of a clock strikes midnight.
The chime explodes in my ears,
as I lay in wait for the light.

No breeze here to rock me to sleep,
the warm stale air lingers around.
Staring in to a deep dark shadow,
the corner of my room no longer found.

Every second feels like an age,
with eyes in the shadows that stare.
I know that if I sleep,
I would only dream of them there.

Erruptions of noise in the distance,
from clubs inside the town?
I find myself staring out the window,
still waiting for the light, I frown.
