Damages Poem by Katherine Graven

Damages

Rating: 5.0

Warm tears are blocked
All locked inside the gray
Waiting for the moment
When a loud thunderclap

BREAKS AWAY

For a toxic energy of wind is building
Among blacken clouds of hidden sadness
Shivering among a haunting vibration
Churning inside the darkness of this

SO CALLED MADNESS

For a storm of emotional baggage is ripping
At my uncontrollable self-control
But
I am fighting a no win battle of weakness
Hovering over

MY WOUNDED SOUL

This agonizing pain of sorrow
Is welling up inside my soul
Searching for a love to borrow
To make my heart glow

Then the damned of tears will break
Flooding my wounded pride
Let's just see what part of me it forsakes
For then there will be

NO WHERE TO HIDE

The last chapter of my story
Is still yet to unfold
Will I allow this destiny
Take all control
Waiting for the untimely moment
For my reality to unfold

OR

For a mask of life’s contentment
Be all I will be allow to show
Hiding in uncertainty's darkness
Not wanting anyone to know

BECAUSE

allowing it to show
will be what damages

MY SOUL
