Damaged Trust Poem by Ryan Bellardini

Damaged Trust

Rating: 5.0

I don't know why I love you so,
When all you do is fill my heart with woe.
I gave you my all, through thick and thin,
Even when we lost our kin.
You tell me what I want to hear,
To make me yours, To keep me here.

You think you're slick, you think your sly,
Problem is I see through your lie.
All you know is lies and deceit,
To keep me from coming off seat.
And when I catch you, which I always do,
You pull the card, how dare you.

Can I trust a word you say?
I used to do so, with no dismay.
You used me now, you used me then,
How will we ever make this work again?
You say you've changed, but time will tell,
Is it worth it? my mind does dwell.

I see you for all that you are,
I always have, my mind bears the scar.
When what you want, and what you crave,
Is already in front of you, a true love's slave.
You can try and search in other men,
But you would never feel this love again.

Insightful piece of poetry that portrays loss of fascination occasioned by deceit in bliss of love, well articulated and nicely penned from heart with conviction. A lovely poem that depicts strenght of character and firm resolve to forge ahead as love makes its exit. Thanks for sharing Ryan. Please read my poem POETIC MASTERPIECE.
