Life is a task we all must overcome
Full of pain and deceit
Where we're told is love and trust
Broken dreams are around every corner
Tears are in our eyes
Wishes never granted
While fears become realities
Loss follows us everywhere
Hardships seem impossible to deal with
When all we want to do is cry
To let our feelings show
We are told to suck it up
Just let it go
Joy never comes to our eyes
Darkening our spirits
Causing us to fill with hate
For everything around us
Those tears fall slowly down our faces
Showing the pain we try to hide
Pulling us under ever so slowly
Refusing to let go.
