Daddy's Love Poem by Shonta Mckoy

Daddy's Love

Growing up wasn't easy as a little girl, with daddy not being around to keep her safe to love her, to kiss her to hold her and tell her everything will be okay. She needs her daddy's love. With you not being there in her life, mommy beings to abuse her people beings to hurt her.She gets rape by family members and strangers, leaving her heart and mind scarred with her young body torn in the inside, wounded deeply nobody to turn to, she needs her daddy's love.Years goes by with you no where to be found, she turns to the streets and the drugs to cover up the hurt and pain they cost her.Not knowing what real love is, she sleeps with no good men, trying to find comfort to fill the emptyness that sits there in her lonely heart, not realizing that she was just hurting her own self more. She needs her daddy's love. Now grown laying there with tears in her eyes, cause a man she thought that loved her was beating her making her feel worthless.Blaming herself for his action and dangerous ways, cause she really didn't know what real Love was, only because she didn't have her daddy's love.
