Daddy, I Love You Poem by Marie Brown

Daddy, I Love You

My Daddy,
the man who helped make me me,
the man who made every effort to be there for me.
To watch me swim and watch me sing,
because the truth is i was always my daddys little girl.

You watched me grow, through childhood,
Helped me learn how i had to go through life.
Its almost like you knew, one day so soon,
you would be gone.

I watched you fight, fight with all your might,
because you wanted to be there,
to protect your little girl.
You saw me get hurt, as you knew i would,
but you knew that would be the thing to make me strong.

But the time, it came, you couldn't fight anymore.
I promised i would be by your side.
The hardest time i will admit was then,
watching you slip away from my life.
My last words were 'i love you',
and that you knew was me saying,
i was ready to let you go.

Now your gone, i miss you so much.
But despite everything, i will always be your little girl.
