Daddy Poem by Stacey Gibbs

Daddy

Rating: 3.0

I’m afraid to lose you
not knowing when you’ll go
Everytime the phone rings in class
I think they’re going to tell me that you died
My thoughts are consumed with worry
because I love you, Daddy
I get so scared
when you put your hand over your heart
I see everyday in your eyes
that you’re dying
I don’t want to believe it
because if I don’t believe, it won’t happen
But I can’t believe it won’t happen
because everyone has to die
I’m terrified, Daddy
mostly of not having you here with me
You’re my north star
the guiding hand in my life
I want to be your little girl
and help you like you’ve helped me
Please, Daddy
live for your family that loves you with all their hearts!

I love you, Daddy!
