From dreams, that lived night long.
Perched with a parrot, on a tamarind tree,
feathered friend was on a singing spree.
Cuckoo woke me with a morning song.

To start the day, with loads of smile,

Cuckoo, hummed with musical shrill
I winked at cuckoo, through window grill.
Cuckoo woke me with a morning song,

Cuckoo sang with a memorable melody.
Parrot joined with her feathered symphony,
With a taunting question- who are you? Who are you?
Tell me, tell me, who are you? Who are you?
Cuckoo woke me with a morning song,

The question seemed earthly simple,
For a child to answer, with lines ample.
Without a fitting reply, I did ponder,
Human wisdom failed to answer,
the birds, lyrical mystic question-
Who are you? Who are you?
Tell me, tell me, Who are you? Who are you?
Cuckoo woke me with a morning song,
