Why do we have to have
bombs and missiles
pointed at one another
Why do so many innocent people
have to suffer
because of the recklessness
of just a few?
Why must war
always be our fate
Why can't love rule our hearts
instead of hate?
Why can't we all get along
together sing our freedom song?
Why must there always be so much
fighting in the street
Why must so many children
go hungry
and have no shoes
to put upon their feet?
So many mothers and fathers cry
because so many of their children
in war will have to die!
