Crunch! Poem by Glenn Ford

Crunch!

Your days of lies and avarice are over now my chums
With your huge wobbly bellies and your big fat bums!
You've broken all the banks and left us all with debts
I hope you have to sell your yachts and your private jets

Many jobs lost and businesses closed too
All because of lust and power, all because of you!
You bust your country and then went on to bust the world
Well I hope you are all satisfied, I hope you are all proud.

The days of easy money will never be the same
No more profit sharing for you, now you'll have to play the game
Money is the root of all evil didn't know that fat cat?
If you had any conscience you would give the cash you've taken back

Now the world waits nervously to see what you have done
All the dodgy dealing and corruption underneath the sun
What's the man going to do? There is no money now
He'll cook the books and crunch some figures and fiddle it some how!

If I had my way you would all be on skid row
To face all the consequences as they come and go
To see how hard it is to live on meagre pay
To sweat and bleed from dawn to dusk and never have your say.

But you won't do that now will you greedy swine?
You're too busy attending restaurant meetings you'll never find the time
Never mind what happens to the people now they've got no cash
You can live off your tax evaded ill-gotten massive stash!
